How to migrate a wallet to MetaMask

Our new NFT minting app uses a MetaMask integration. If you are on the NFT Presale Whitelist and are using a wallet app other than MetaMask, you will need to migrate your wallet to MetaMask for compatibility.

This process will vary depending if you already have a MetaMask wallet/account set up on the device you intend to use. Please follow the instructions that correspond to your setup.

I don't already have a MetaMask wallet installed

1. Install MetaMask

Depending on which device you plan on minting from, you can either install MetaMask as a Mobile app or as a browser extension.

2. Import your wallet into MetaMask

Once you open MetaMask and click "Get Started", select the "Import your existing wallet using a Secret Recovery Phrase" option.

Next, head over to your original wallet and retrieve the secret phrase/seed phrase. We've included a diagram on how to retrieve your secret phrase from Trust Wallet.

IMPORTANT: Be extremely careful with your secret phrase. It grants full access to your wallet.

Now, head back over to the MetaMask extension and input this secret phrase into the corresponding text fields.

3. Add the Binance Smart Chain Network

Out of the box, MetaMask does not come set up for Binance Smart Chain. You will need to enable it in order to interact with the BSC blockchain.

Follow the instructions at this link to add the BSC network to MetaMask.

I have a MetaMask wallet installed already

If you already have a MetaMask account set up on the device you intend to use for minting, this process becomes a bit more complicated. This is because MetaMask only lets you import a wallet using a secret phrase when you first set up a MetaMask account, and not once you already have an account set up.

Method 1: Use a new desktop browser

This method is the easiest and most straightforward.

1. Install MetaMask on a new browser

The MetaMask browser extension is available on Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Firefox.

Install MetaMask on a browser that doesn't already have an existing MetaMask account attached to it.

Once you're done with this step, you should be all set!

Method 2: Import with MetaMask account recovery

This method is riskier and more convoluted as it requires you to log out of your existing MetaMask account.

1. Copy down your existing MetaMask private key(s)

Because this method requires you to log out of you existing MetaMask account, it is important to make sure you have a way to access/re-add your original MetaMask wallets.

Please make sure you have your original MetaMask wallet private key(s) copied down before proceeding.

2. Log out of MetaMask and click "Forgot Password"

In the browser extension, click the account icon, then click the "Lock" button.

In the mobile app, click the top left menu button, then select the menu option that says "Lock" (it's all the way at the bottom).

You should now see the MetaMask login page. Click the "Forgot Password" link at the bottom.

3. Import your wallet into MetaMask

Head over to your original wallet and retrieve the secret phrase/seed phrase. We've included a diagram on how to retrieve your secret phrase from Trust Wallet.

IMPORTANT: Be extremely careful with your secret phrase. It grants full access to your wallet.

Now, head back over to the MetaMask extension and input this secret phrase into the corresponding text fields.

4. Add the Binance Smart Chain Network

Out of the box, MetaMask does not come set up for Binance Smart Chain. You will need to enable it in order to interact with the BSC blockchain.

Follow the instructions at this link to add the BSC network to MetaMask.

Once you're done with this step, you should be all set!
